AS8

July 2006. For more than twelve years the bow section of SS American Star had stubbornly withstood everything the winter Atlantic storms could throw at her. In November 2005 she faced her severest test: the tail-end of tropical storm Delta, which swept through the islands uprooting trees and bringing down power lines. She survived - but only just. The port side has collapsed and she is listing badly. Sadly, her days may be numbered.
